I have a lifetime experience of nursing, covering all specialities, in hospitals and for the last four years in the home. I have found there is increasing need for my services in the home and these services can be tailored to the requirements of the patient. I am based in the South Hams in Devon. I am a car driver with a full, clean licence.
Social Services are always under pressure due to the large numbers requiring their services. They provide Carers only but there is also a lack of continuity in the provision of this care. Social Services do not provide trained Nurses. District Nurses no longer go into the home for routine care, only unless requested by a GP for specialist reasons, i.e. dressings, blood test, BP checks. I am qualified to undertake all these tasks.
Communication between hospital and GPs and the patient is not always clear. Post operative patients come home often without clear instructions for pain relief and unchecked blood profiles. There is no relief for exhausted and worried relatives who often need to have a holiday.
I will visit you in your own home or in hospital, to make sure we all get along. There is no charge for this first visit depending upon distance. I am happy to run your household, take care of your loved one with a medically trained eye in your own home, as well as look after any pets. I am also able to advise you on any necessary aids and treatments to make the patient’s life more comfortable as well as that of their relatives. Home care is in every way far superior to that which is able to be provided in Residential Care Homes. I can provide you with the possibility of your own social life – going out for lunch, visiting gardens and friends and even a visit to the cinema or the Bridge Club.
